Murray & Roberts Acquires Aquamarine and Secures Access to African Water Treatment Opportunities
14 October 2014
Johannesburg, 14 October 2014 – Murray & Roberts today announced the acquisition of Aquamarine Water Treatment (“Aquamarine”). The acquisition value was R28 million.
Aquamarine is a company that designs, manufactures and installs water treatment solutions. It offers a complete customised solution, including support for and maintenance of its installations. Aquamarine currently operates in a niche market for mainly small to-medium size installations and has developed a network of resellers throughout the African continent that serves as an extended business development network.
Harry Singleton, Operations Executive, Murray & Roberts Water comments “Aquamarine will augment Murray & Roberts’ entry into the equipment and technology supply, as well as the operations and maintenance segments of the project value chain. Aquamarines’ technology is ideal for much larger water treatment solutions including containerised modular plants.”
“Murray & Roberts Water’s strategic intent is to design and build water treatment plants and to operate and maintain these installations. Our current competence and capability, combined with Aquamarine’s equipment design, supply, operations and maintenance skills, will provide the opportunity to access large water treatment project opportunities across the continent,” concludes Singleton.
